AGT Foods is seeking a Canada Health and Safety Manager to join our Corporate Safety Team at our Head Office in Regina, SK.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation of Safety Programs and ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are met
• Provide safety leadership to all safety reps, committees, management and employees and other affected groups in the implementation of safety programs
• Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, or near-misses
• Research and make recommendations for fostering safety culture
• Perform routine inspections and audits of workplaces in Canada
• Evaluate practices, procedures, equipment and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law – propose budget allocations to locations/equipment based on safety risk
• Create and present safety communications that foster an awareness of health and safety practices (bulletins, webinars, events, summits and meetings)
• Prepare safety analytics (KPIs, Occurrence Stats etc)
• Any other duties required from time to time or as requested by management to help foster safety culture and compliance within the company

Skills and Abilities

• Industry credentials such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety (OHST) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and job experience
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on safety management experience
• Competency in identifying risk and conducting risk-based decision making
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to affect positive behavior in others
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to travel within Canada (Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta)
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
