Application and Solutions Developer - Regina, SK.

AGT Foods is seeking an Application and Solutions Developer (Level 1 and/or Level 2) to join our Head Office team in Regina, SK.

Reporting to the Manager, Application and Systems Development, primary functions for this position are developing and maintaining new and existing software applications.

Responsibilities for the position include

  • working as part of a team, which may be established purely for a particular project, to write a specific section of the program;
  • establishing a detailed program specification through discussion with clients;
  • clarifying what actions the program is intended to perform;
  • breaking down program specification into its simplest elements and translating this logic into a programming language;
  • devising possible solutions to anticipated problems;
  • reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary;
  • evaluating and increasing the program's effectiveness;
  • adapting the program to new requirements, as necessary;
  • developing and executing unit test plans;
  • conducting user acceptance testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly and accurately;
  • writing detailed documentation for the operation of the program by users and computer operators;
  • consulting manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge;

Skills and abilities required for this position include:

  • Angular, PHP7, SQL, Git, Bootstrap
  • Agile/Iterative Development experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in the following:

  • Symfony, Laravel
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX or other ERP integration experience
  • Experience integrating with hardware controllers

Education, experience and other requirements for this position include:

  • Formal education (college/university) or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Additional skills required for Level 2 include:

  • Experience building applications from the ground up (vs adding features to an existing application)
  • Experience breaking a high level development requirement into separately implementable “features” and/or “Stories” for Agile development
  • Ability to mentor junior personnel

Super B Truck Drivers - Multiple Locations

AGT Foods, a division of Alliance Pulse Processors Inc., is looking for Full Time Super B Truck Drivers to join our teams in Regina, Saskatoon and Calgary.

Main Functions

  • Responsible for the operation of AGT Foods tractor trailer power unit(s) and handling various chassis/intermodal/equipment loaded or empty in tractor trailer trucking service
  • Operation of various heavy equipment required for yard maintenance and container handling
  • Provide truck and chassis maintenance to the extent possible
  • Assists the Truck Driver Coordinator in the operation and equipment supply at AGT Foods compounds

Description of Work Performed 

  • Truck driver will work closely with the various rail inter modal ramps and equipment providers
  • Develops and implements good coordination and professional working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Operates the equipment to load and off load containers
  • Provides container chassis maintenance
  • Maintain daily work and log book records
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalence or suitable work related experience
  • Must have class 1 license with air brake endorsement
  • Must provide current drivers abstract
  • Must be able to pass drug testing
  • Must have the ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently

General Labourers - Calgary, AB

AGT Foods, a division of Alliance Pulse Processors Inc., is looking for labourers to join our team at our South East Calgary, AB location.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and unloading of peas/lentils/beans and other crops
  • Loading containers with bulk grain
  • Grading and binning grain accordingly
  • Operating grain handling equipment and machinery including shunt trucks and skid steers
  • Perform basic yard maintenance, repair and housekeeping duties
  • Follow all prescribed corporate SOP’s, safety procedures and training manuals
  • Other duties as assigned

Employment Requirements:

  • Previous grain handling or agricultural experience would be an asset
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors year-round
  • Punctual and be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Able to lift in excess of 25kg

AGT Foods USA, a division of Alliance Pulse Processors Inc., is looking for full-time General Labourers / Warehouse Workers to join its team at its location in Minot, ND.

Duties:

  • loading containers of bagged product for export
  • operating automated bagging and processing equipment in shipping areas
  • basic warehouse duties
  • must follow all policies as developed in the Food Safety Program
  • certain individuals will be responsible for Housekeeping / Sanitation program on a weekly basis
  • must perform all basic housekeeping and re-processing functions throughout the facility as needed
