Financial Reporting Analyst - Regina, SK

AGT Foods is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team at our Regina Head Office team.

Working at the Regina Head Office, the Financial Reporting Analyst (FRA) will be a key part of the monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting process. The FRA will be involved in various financial reporting initiatives including financial statements, notes and audit requirements. The FRA will be flexible in some of their duties and provide backup to various team members, creating opportunities for breadth and learning within this role. Finally, the individual will be involved with coordination of subsidiaries around the world for various reporting and/or corporate initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completion of revenue cutoff testing for various subsidiaries
  • Coordination with AGT auditors on revenue cutoff and other matters
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly financial statements including note preparation/ review, financial statement tie outs and rolls, etc.
  • Coordination with subsidiaries on various initiatives such as updating accounting policies and signoffs
  • Prepare/assist with consolidations of various subsidiaries
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and reporting package
  • Preparation of intercompany account reconciliations
  • Preparation of journal entries
  • Provide backup coverage to various accounting team members creating excellent learning opportunities and breadth
  • One of the primary authorizers of electronic disbursements and cheques
  • Assist with internal control testing, documentation and follow up as necessary
  • Other accounting and finance duties as necessary

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • CPA designation or enrolled in the CPA program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel & Outlook
  • Attention to planning, process, and detail

Administration Officer and Weighbridge Officer - 2 Positions - Bowmans, SA, Australia

AGT Foods Australia, a division of AGT Food and Ingredients Inc., is currently offering two full-time opportunities for an Administration Officer and Weighbridge Officer to join our team in Bowmans, SA. Administration Officer responsibilities would include:

Food Safety Manager - Minot, ND

AGT Foods, a division of AGT Food and Ingredients Inc, is seeking a Food Safety Manager in Minot, ND.

The Food Safety Manager manages, verifies, and ensures effective implementation of quality and food safety management systems (QFSMS) in the facility. The Food Safety Manager determines and implements initiatives for compliance and improvement of quality and food safety programs in the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures effective implementation of the quality and food safety management system (QFSMS) programs in the facility
  • Conducts periodic food safety risk assessment and as needed
  • Leads team in facilitating complaint investigations
  • Leads team verification activities, corrective actions, and internal auditing
  • Manages document lifecycle in the facility
  • Facilitates the facility SWOT analysis
  • Ensures (Group/Facility) Management Reviews are conducted as per defined frequency, prepares agenda, presentation and minutes of Management Review
  • Gathers KPI reports, monitors and tracks QFS performance (KPI’s) of facility to report to facility management
  • Acts as key contact for QA/FS in the facility to liaise with customers and partners regarding quality and food safety concerns
  • In collaboration with Purchasing and Customer Relations, manages Supplier Quality Management program for materials and service providers
  • Tracks and monitors completion of action items arising from internal deviations (CARs), customer complaints (CSCARs), internal and external audits (CAPA), and other action items; and verifies effectiveness of implementation
  • Act as facility Food Safety Team Leader and ensures continuous training is provided to Facility Food Safety Team members
  • Manages product certifications (ex. Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, Vegan, Organic) and registration
  • Manages customer websites for document requests and questionnaires
  • Regularly communicates with Facility Manager, Operations Manager, Research and Development Director, and Director of Operations to gather inputs on issues affecting quality and food safety, and identify action items applicable to the facility to comply with QFS requirements
  • Ensures label artwork complies with regulatory and standard requirements
  • Ensures HACCP Plan is validated and verified in applicable AGT facilities
  • Leads Plant FS audit team to conduct facility audits and inspections as per defined frequency and as needed
  • Reviews and approves QFSMS documents that are created from Corporate Food Safety and/or local Food Safety
  • Acts as audit guide during third party audits
  • Trains and motivates Food Safety Coordinator and Food Safety Team to effectively execute tasks assigned to Food Safety
  • Manages documentation of product technical specifications and SDS
  • Ensures resources are determined and reported to Operations Manager for implementation of QFSMS in the facility
  • Leads the process of Continual Process improvement at the plant level
  • Supports the Corporate QFS, R&D and Commercial Team by conducting inter-facility audits and providing expertise concerning quality and/or food safety
  • Ensures the facility FSMS is up-to-date and aligned with current standard and regulatory requirements
  • Uphold a quality-conscious and food-safe culture.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Competency Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Science, Food Science, Agriculture, or any related science program
  • Minimum 3-year experience in supervisory or managerial role in food industry
  • High level of knowledge and understanding on quality and food safety management systems standards (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, Gluten-Free) and product-identity standards (Kosher, HALAL, Organic, Non-GMO, Vegan)

  • Lead plant internal quality and food safety inspections. Participate in programs as an auditor/inspector.
  • Champions plant traceability systems and mock recall exercises for ingredients, packaging and finished product. Executes plant-scheduled and Corporate-initiated trace exercises. Leads plant food defense team by conducting team meetings, audits, and assessments.
  • Lead investigations of in-plant quality incidents (foreign material, nonconforming product) and consumer complaints, identifying root causes and facilitating corrective action with plant teams. Interprets and reports consumer complaint data trends and facilitates action plans.
  • Function as HACCP / Food Safety team member responsible for conducting risk assessments and organizing program reassessments for continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities and design plans for expanded use of the plant electronic data collection system, anticipating future applications.
  • Cross-train team members in QA and FS functions
  • Designs and develops work plans for the appropriate AGT Foods Business supporting multiple projects of varying complexity and technical risk.

Competency Requirements:

Labourers and MOW Equipment Operators - Railroad Tie Gang - Delisle, SK

Mobil Grain, a division of Alliance Pulse Processors Inc., is now hiring Labourers and experienced MOW Equipment Operators for work on our seasonal railroad tie gang. The tie gang will work on our two shortline railroads, Big Sky Rail and Last Mountain Railway, during the months from spring thaw to fall freeze-up. There is a possibility of staying on full-time over next winter for the right candidate(s).

The position is based in Delisle, SK (20 mins west of Saskatoon), but the majority of the work will be elsewhere on the two rail lines. This position will include periods of up to weeks away from home, during which accommodations and meals will be covered by the company.

Duties may include:

  • Culvert repair work
  • Weed/grass trimming
  • Maintenance of railroad switches
  • Operation of tools and/or equipment
  • Upkeep of sidings

Extrusion – Packaging Operator - Regina, SK

AGT Foods is seeking a full-time Extrusion – Packaging Operator for our state-of-the-art Extrusion factory in Regina, SK. The Extrusion - Packaging Operator will set up, calibrate, operate, monitor, and perform basic trouble shooting of extrusion and auxiliary equipment to produce clean, quality products to customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Set Up and Operate Extrusion production line equipment

  • Assist with yard and processing plant housekeeping (includes snow removal to ensure access to and from the facility is not compromised)
  • Help with bulk loading either in the driveway area or trackside when loading hopper cars
  • Assist with live loading bulk loads in the driveway (driving truck)
  • Monitor supply levels (Bags, string, bulk loading materials etc.)
  • Conduct month end inventory count
  • Ensure the area surrounding the storage containers is clean and tidy
  • Complete any other tasks or reasonable requests as assigned or required

Duties include:

Process Operators - Rosetown, SK

AGT Foods and Lucent BioSciences are looking for 4 Process Operators.

The Process Operator will be responsible for the manufacturing and handling of raw materials and/or finished products at the new AGT Soileos production facility north of Rosetown.

Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Actively promote a safe and efficient work environment consistent with good manufacturing practices
  • Operate equipment and provide ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting and adjustment of the AGT Soileos production process as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines
  • Provide support for the Quality Department for in-process testing, to ensure that products both adhere to specification and are of uniform quality
  • Obtain product samples and perform QC testing in accordance with established SOPs
  • Operate as a self-starter and demonstrate an ability to work within cross-functional work teams to problem solve, improve processes and procedures, and generally help AGT Lucent to continually improve
  • Identify opportunities for improvement; develop appropriate recommendations, implement action plans, and follow up to ensure effective results
  • Ensure detailed and documented shift logs are prepared for handover to the next shift
