Facility Assistant - Condie, SK and Aylesbury, SK

AGT Foods, a division of Alliance Pulse Processors Inc., is looking for a Facility Assistant to for our Condie, SK location and our Aylesbury, SK location.

As the Facility Assistant, you will be responsible for tasks associated with receiving, processing and shipping of grain and/or special crops, as well as general labor in and around the facility including light maintenance and repair and general housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take grain samples for quality analysis
  • Prepare, weigh and load railcars and trucks for shipment
  • Prepare shipping documentation and maintain grain samples
  • Receive and record product including quality, damages or shortages
  • Perform housekeeping and warehouse duties
  • Travel as needed to other AGT Foods locations(using company vehicle

Controller, Financial Reporting - Regina, SK

AGT Foods is seeking a Controller, Financial Reporting to join our Regina Head Office team.

This person will work closely with the Managing Director of Corporate Services on all aspects of financial statement preparation and reporting. Additionally, the position will be active in the review of financial information from various subsidiaries around the world. Finally, the individual will be a key contributor to accounting policies and involved in position papers and rollouts of policies to impacted groups.

Duties:

Reporting

  • Issue timely and complete financial statements, including review of financial information and note disclosures
  • Completion of IFRS disclosure checklist
  • Contribute to the preparation of the corporate financial reporting package for Fairfax and banking institutions
  • Review account reconciliations and journal entries for various subsidiaries
  • Lead or participate in complex accounting initiatives including key contributor to position papers
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Other duties and projects as required and assigned

Management

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain a system of internal controls

Employment Requirements:

Financial Reporting Analyst - Regina, SK

AGT Foods is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our Regina Head Office team.

Working at the Regina Head Office, the Financial Reporting Analyst (FRA) will be a key part of the monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting process. The FRA will be responsible for preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries. Finally, the individual will contribute significantly to the implementation, maintenance, documentation and testing of internal controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and reporting package
  • Assist with intercompany account reconciliations
  • Preparation of journal entries

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, confident individual with some knowledge of the Ag industry in Western Canada.

This person will assist the procurement group in the day-to-day planning and coordination of pulse/cereal/oilseed crop purchasing and deliveries.

Senior Quality and Food Safety Coordinator - Regina, SK (Leonard St.)

AGT Foods Canada, one of the world's largest suppliers of value-added pulses, staple foods and food ingredients, is expanding our ingredient platform and opening a new process in our Regina, SK (Leonard Street) facility. We will be producing semifinished food products to be used in pastas, plant-based burgers and other ingredients to be used in finished food products.

AGT Foods is seeking a permanent full-time Senior Quality and Food Safety Coordinator to join the Regina, SK (Leonard St.) team. The successful candidate will oversee Quality and Food Safety for the facility’s extrusion line, which will begin operation in June 2022.

Responsibilities:

  • Completion of all Qualification Cards
  • Ensures effective implementation of quality and food safety management system (QFSMS) programs in the facility
  • Leads team in facilitating investigations, corrective actions, and internal auditing
  • Manages document lifecycle in the facility
  • Identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of QFSMS in the facility
  • Provides inputs to the QFS manager to ensures (Group/Facility) Management Reviews are conducted as per defined frequency, prepares agenda, presentation and minutes of Management Review
  • Gathers Plant KPI reports, monitors and tracks QFS performance (KPI’s) of facility to report to the QFS Manager
  • Acts as key contact for QA/FS in the facility to liaise with QFS manager regarding quality and food safety concerns; ensures timely completion of customer questionnaires, document requests, inquiries, and complaints
  • Support the Supplier Quality Management program at the site level as required
  •  Tracks and monitors completion of action items arising from internal deviations (CARs), customer complaints (CSCARs), internal and external audits (CAPA), and other action items
  • Chairs Facility Food Safety Team and ensures continuous training is provided to Facility Food Safety Team members
  • Regularly communicates with Facility Manager, QFS manager, and Operations to gather inputs on issues affecting quality and food safety, and identify action items applicable to the facility to comply with QFS requirements
  • Ensures HACCP Plan is validated and verified in applicable AGT facilities
  • Leads Plant FS audit team to conduct facility audits and inspections as per defined frequency and as needed
  • Reviews and approves site QFSMS documents in line with Corporate Food Safety
  • Acts as audit guide during third party audits
  • Trains and motivates plant staff and Food Safety Team to effectively execute tasks assigned to Food Safety
  • Ensures resources are determined and reported to QFS Manager for implementation of QFSMS in the facility
  • Leads the process of Continual Process improvement at the plant level
  • Uphold a safe, quality-conscious and food-safe culture
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Competency Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Science, Food Science, Agriculture, or any related science program
  • Relevant experience in food industry

Logistics Supervisor - Trucking - Regina, SK

AGT Foods is seeking a Logistics Supervisor - Trucking to join our Regina Head Office team. The Logistics Supervisor - Trucking is responsible for ensuring that all haulers operating at AGT Foods meet all the requirements of the AGT Foods contractor safety management and safe driver program. 

This position will promote a safety culture through engagement with third party haulers, AGT Foods contractors and employees, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.   This role will also develop, promote, administer and enforce safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that AGT Foods sites; depots, pits and operations meet or exceed all AGT Foods and Regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and dispatch employees, including staffing, scheduling, and training process.
  • Provide customer service which includes resolving any delivery concerns & disputes with internal and external customers and haulers.
  • Coordinates closely with production facilities to ensure customer service deliverance and logistics solutions.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensuring that truck and driver safety audits take place, both on and off site. This includes checking driver orientation cards, PPE, working radios, spill kits, fire extinguishers, etc.
  • Assist with incident investigation for all haul truck incidents that take place on AGT Foods sites. Where necessary, also included in investigations that take place on customer sites.
  • Facilitate safe Hauler meetings; develop relationships.
  • Carrier audits regarding IVMS or Scorecards

Relationship with Others:

  • Reports to Supply Chain Manager.
  • Works closely with the Plant managers, suppliers, internal staff and external customers.
  • Collaborates with the maintenance team on the execution of mechanical maintenance and fleet management.

Financial Responsibility:

  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources provided and optimize costs where possible.
  • Participate in or lead the development and implementation of site specific actions to reduce costs.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Diploma, College Degree or Diploma in Business would be definite assets.
  • A minimum of five years Supervisory/Managerial experience working in a similar environment: An acceptable combination of education and work experience.
  • A valid Class 5A Driver’s License (and abstract) for mobility between sites. Preferably candidate will have a Class 1A License.

Main Function

  • Responsible for the operation of tractor trailer power unit(s) and handling various chassis/intermodal/equipment loaded or empty in tractor trailer trucking service.
  • Operation of various heavy equipment required for yard maintenance and container handling.
  • Provide truck and chassis maintenance to the extent possible.

Description of Work Performed

  • Truck driver will work closely with the various rail intermodal ramps and equipment providers.
