DESCRIPTION

AGT Foods USA, a division of AGT Food and Ingredients Inc., is a value-added processor of pulse based ingredients, including pulse (lentils, chickpeas, beans and peas) flours, proteins and fibres. AGT Foods USA Ingredient Division features a flagship ingredient manufacturing facility in Minot, ND, producing over 140,000mt of pulse based ingredients per year and servicing customers throughout North America and around the world. 

POSITION PURPOSE

Create and deliver distinctive value to AGT Foods by working with division head and current sales team to develop and deploy strategic sales planning and goal setting within the food ingredient space focusing on both consumer packaged goods companies, start-up companies and foodservice/school lunch programs.  The Technical Sales Representative will work with customers on project development, general technical support, sales execution and management.  The Technical Sales Representative will collaborate with AGT’s global R&D team in Saskatoon to drive innovation with pulse ingredients with current and new customers.  

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Preferred B.S. degree with emphasis in the Food Science field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in a food ingredient sales or a sales related field
  • Excellent oral and written skills 
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated 
  • Demonstrated team work and ability to effectively collaborate
  • Relentless determination and courage to get tasks done.
  • Ability to think innovatively with customers and AGT Team and generate new innovation and uses for pulse based ingredient

Application and Solutions Developer (Junior) - Regina, SK

AGT Foods is seeking an Application and Solutions Developer (Junior) to join our Head Office team in Regina, SK.

This position reports to the Manager, Applications and Systems Development.

You will be working as part of a team developing and maintaining new and existing software modules within a large ERP software system. You will receive ongoing training and guidance on how to develop forms, business logic, and database queries using the X++ language within the Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 IDE, and to develop SSRS reports within Visual Studio. You will use these skills working with other members of the development team and business users to develop across a wide variety of projects and modules within the system.

Skills and abilities required for this position include:

  • Experience with one of X++, C#, C++, or Java
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Agile/Iterative development experience

Preference may be given to candidates:

  • With experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX or other business management system knowledge
  • With experience dealing directly with end users and/or business analysts to design solutions.

Forklift Operator/Warehouse Worker - Regina, SK

AGT Foods, a division of Alliance Pulse Processors Inc., is looking for a highly skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at our Regina (Leonard Street) location.

The prime function of this position is to provide support to the supply chain through collecting, loading, shipping and receiving warehouse products. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating technical equipment, optimizing loading for efficient logistics and supporting other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business.

Job Description:

Food Safety Coordinator - Regina, SK

AGT Foods is looking for a Full Time Food Safety Coordinator to join our Regina head office team. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Food Safety, the Food Safety Coordinator will support the North American facilities with respect to food safety and quality objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures implementation of quality and food safety management system programs
  • Reviews and verifies quality and food safety records
  • Maintains document lifecycle in the facility
  • Participates in the review of hazard analysis and critical control point following HACCP principles
  • Initiates investigation activities triggered by internal non-conformances, customer complaints, and audits
  • Able to manage food safety system documentation
  • Coordinates with key personnel to identify actions to be taken to address food safety issues
  • Conducts facility audits and inspections as per defined frequency and as needed
  • Acts as audit guide during third party audits
  • Ensures the facility’s inspection readiness
  • Coordinates QFSMS issues during food safety meetings and toolbox meetings

Truck Driver - Calgary, AB

AGT Foods, a division of Alliance Pulse Processors Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver to join our Calgary team.

Main Function

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of AGT Foods tractor trailer power unit(s) and handling various container chassis, intermodal equipment loaded or empty, or grain trailer movement using tractor trailer trucking service

Description of Work Performed

  • This position will be focused on hauling containers on chassis from both the CN and CP Rail yards as well as potentially other off rail ramp container storage locations
  • Will complete daily safety inspections of the vehicle(s) being operated
  • Must maintain accurate Electronic Log Book for compliance purposes
  • Will be required to complete data submission through smart phone/tablet or paperwork as required
  • Develops and implements good coordination and professional working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Will primarily be local in town haulage.  Highway deliveries may be required

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalence or suitable work related experience
  • Must have class 1 license with air brake endorsement
  • Must provide current driver’s abstract
  • Must be able to pass drug testing

Main Functions

  • Manages, verifies, and ensures effective implementation of quality and food safety management systems (QFSMS) in the facility
  • Determines and implements initiatives for compliance and improvement of quality and food safety programs in the facility
  • Provides direction and ensures implementation of quality and food safety management systems across AGT facilities

  • Keeps up on changes of applicable industry issues and regional/global food safety regulations & trends

  • Leads team in facilitating investigations, corrective actions, and internal auditing

  • Identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of QFSMS in the facility 
  • Ensures (Group/Facility) Management Reviews are conducted as per defined frequency, prepares agenda, presentation and minutes of Management Review.  
  • Gathers KPI reports, monitors and tracks QFS performance (KPI’s) of facility to report to Top Management  
  • Acts as key contact for QA/FS in the facility to liaise with customers and partners regarding quality and food safety concerns; ensures timely completion of customer questionnaires, document requests, inquiries, and complaints 
  • In collaboration with Purchasing and Customer Relations, manages Supplier Quality Management program 
  • Tracks and monitors completion of action items arising from internal deviations (CARs), customer complaints (CSCARs), internal and external audits (CAPA), and other action items; and verifies effectiveness of implementation   
  • Chairs Facility Food Safety Team and ensures continuous training is provided to Facility Food Safety Team members 
  • Regularly communicates with Facility Manager, Operations Manager, Research and Development Director, and Director of Operations to gather inputs on issues affecting quality and food safety, and identify action items applicable to the facility to comply with QFS requirements
  • Ensures HACCP Plan is validated and verified in applicable AGT facilities 
  • Leads Plant FS audit team to conduct facility audits and inspections as per defined frequency and as needed
  • Reviews and approves QFSMS documents that are created from Corporate Food Safety and/or local Food Safety
  • Acts as audit guide during third party audits 
  • Trains and motivates Food Safety Coordinators and Food Safety Team to effectively execute tasks assigned to Food Safety 
  • Ensures resources are determined and reported to Operations Manager for implementation of QFSMS in the facility 
  • Leads the process of Continual Process improvement at the plant level

Key Initial Deliverables

  • certain individuals will be responsible for Housekeeping / Sanitation program on a weekly basis
  • must perform all basic housekeeping and re-processing functions throughout the facility as needed
